Treating our younger patients is an important part of APT. Hawaii in general is under-served with not enough child and adolescent psychiatrists to keep up with demand. With knowledge of a wide array of psychiatric illness, our child and adolescent psychiatry providers bring these important services to our patients. They coordinate the many specialized needs of minor patients, providing both medication management and psychotherapy, as well as coordinating their care with families, teachers, and social workers in the community. With experience treating ADD/ADHD, depression and anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, substance use disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, and eating disorders, our doctors can help ease many of the types of issues that affect the mental well-being of children and teens.
